My client, Dan, wanted a clean, modern logo that would have vertical and horizontal manifestations for the various ways a hair studio uses them—as both function and decoration. Due to the salon specializing in both men and women’s hair, the thought was to use both the scissors and combs as iconography. The scissors are in homage to the left-hand shears that Dan uses.
Dan had the revolutionary idea to not only offer standard hair salon services, but offer a monthly package to his clients at price points that made sense for them. Introducing this idea in a clean, open way along with the regular service menu was key to Dan achieving his goals to operate a bustling and successful hair studio.
Much more stellar in-person, Dan’s black-on-black multi-purpose contact cards with a luxe shiny finish for the lettering exude a feeling of exclusivity akin to an AMEX Black Card. He requested business cards that also serve as appointment cards—finishing off the style by writing with a bold silver sharpie. Why waste two pieces of paper when you can accomplish the same task with one?
